Timeline & clips

Quick steps

  1. Add tracks from the track header menu; arm for recording, mute/solo from the header or mixer.
  2. Drag audio from Library → Samples onto a track; enable Auto-stretch in Settings if you want tempo sync on import.
  3. Double-click a MIDI clip to open the Piano roll (bottom panel).
  4. Right-click clips for render, freeze, linked copies, stem separation, and audio-to-MIDI.

Details

The arrange view is the centre of the window — a scrolling, zoomable grid with bar ruler, track headers, and a moving playhead.

  • Edit / Select / Slice tools, rubber-band multi-select, duplicate, reverse, and slice from the timeline toolbar.
  • Automation lanes — right-click a control → Create automation track; lanes appear under the track.

Comping

Loop-record into take lanes, pick the best regions, then flatten the comp.

  • Ctrl+Shift+Backspace — delete a bar and close the gap
